The residents of the City of East St. Louis, IL are underserved when it comes to to quality, nutrient rich nutrition. This disparity deprives the community of resources for healthy living.
Bond Avenue Fish and Poultry has undertaken a mission of changing the current situation by leveraging their position in the community to enlighten residents of a greater health consciousness. The company’s focus for the next century is combating East St. Louis’s public health crisis through the production and distribution of nutrient rich foods.
The project, in some small part, aims to curb the mass consumption of nutrient depleted foods by children and seniors living in the community. Recharging the palate of those within this food desert will provide multiple benefits including wholistic solutions to food insecurity, environmental contamination and economic disenfranchisement to the citizens of East St. Louis
